Garage Sale

Held a Garage/Estate Sale today, and some of my neighbours joined me (awesome, and hard not to just tradesies for more cool space-sucking stuff)! Got to see some kids garage sale-ing for the first time (dimes were gold!), some old-timer pros, and met a lot of my neighbours for the first time--one even went on a trip to the local coffee shop for me and did some BIPV solar panel research when he heard about my LFH! Most of my neighbours think I'm crazy for wanting to live in such a small space, but most people I talked to reminisced about the time waaaay back, when they lived in a smaller space, when they didn't work at a soul-sucking desk, have to live and breathe a $500k mortgage, and didn't have to clean 3000 square feet of dusty carpet.

And that's the theme that's coming out: how much simpler, easier, kinder life is in smaller spaces, whether it be a summer cabin, a weekend hotel, a camper, that time backpacking in Europe.

NOT A SINGLE PERSON SAID HOW MUCH THEY LOVED MOVING TO A BIGGER SPACE.

Not a single one.

NOR DID ANYONE SAY HOW MUCH THEY HATED LIVING IN A SMALL SPACE.

Nary a one.

I doubt I'll be the first voice to raise complaints, though most of us (myself included) are worried about how on earth my 6'2"-ness, my 100-lb dog, my cat, and my myriad of plants are going to fit in 128 square feet.

Let me show you.... I'm excited.....!

Beans raised today: $80-some
Beans spent on my house so far: $2215.

The remainder of the garage sale stuff (and my neighbours' stuff) is being donated to 5&2 Ministries, the Warm Zone of the Women's Resource Centre, and MCC
